Oahu being the state capital, Honolulu, is one of the top wedding destinations in the world and beaches in Oahu are beautiful and surprisingly good option for the wedding proceedings. The island is home to dozens of picturesque beaches, which allows couples to plan their weddings and honeymoon in one convenient location. The temperature on the island is pleasant even in the warmer months.

The beaches are very popular destination for wedding many companies are available to offer a range of wedding services. If you are staying in the Waikiki hotels, planners would recommend Waialae or Waikiki Beach for quick and small weddings. If your hotel and wedding location is close then it helps the planner to organize things fast. If you choose vendors who live near the beach may not charge the travel fee as when compared to those vendors who stay apart.

Windward Shore: is comprised of Kailua, Lanikai, Waimanalo and Makapu’u Beach Kailua and Lanikai Beach- you must have visited many beaches but Kailua and Lanikai are world’s most beautiful beaches and Steven Leatherman, an expert on sand and ocean has given top ratings to Oahu’s beaches.

The beaches are stunning with white soft sand- best for wedding ceremony. Beach has everything – from a pleasant view, placid crystal and clear water. Waimanalo Beach is the most beautiful, calm beach on the island. Walking on the beach at sunrise in your wedding ceremony can be most amazing experiences of your life. The beaches are truly a paradise on the earth. Remember alcohol is not allowed on the beaches. You will get all the desired facilities here that make the beaches to add more natural feel. The beach is small and get crowded over weekends so, plan well and in advance for the event.

North Shore: Pounders, Ke Iki, Sunset Beach and Waimea Bay
The North shore of Oahu offers many breathtaking and fantastic beaches to hold your wedding. If you are planning your wedding during winter months then surf’s are really high and can be dangerous. Ke Iki Beach is an incredible location for your special events. You can enjoy a barefoot ceremony on the beach.

You will experience plenty of room for tents and dancing. Complete catering is available. After the ceremony you can relax and enjoy the beauty of this Hawaiian paradise in the beach bungalows. The bungalows are filled with guest so, remember to check the availability.

Waianae Coast: Makaha and Pokai Beach Parks and Makua Beach
If you want the true experience of Hawaii then it has to be on Waianae Coast.

The View on the Waianae beach is romantic and beach is amazing. Only worrying factor is the crime rate here, so take good care of your valuables.

Before you choose a specific beach for your wedding, gather information online about the services and fees that will apply. Some beaches are free to hold a gathering but some charge nominal fees. Now-a-days you require a permit to hold a wedding ceremony on the beaches. Your wedding coordinator can help you to get the permit.

Surfing is said to be the home of Hawaii. In Hawaii you have some great beaches with really high waves. Here you can have true experience of surfing. If you have not been to north shore then you are not said to be world class surfer. This Island is truly blessed with top quality waves and swells. Each of the Hawaiian Islands gets its share of the huge swells generated from October to March, but undoubtedly the North Shore is the place that grabs everybody’s attention. The locations in Hawaii make surfing a spectacular sport.

The Ancient Hawaiian Tradition of Surfing
Hawaiians believe that they have a primal connection to the universe, to nature, to the land and the sea, this belief comes from a deep spiritual as well as genealogical nature. For Hawaiians life begins with nature. The history of surfing is connected to the ancient Hawaiian tradition of “he’e nalu”, meaning “wave-sliding”.

This ancient Hawaiian culture reflects emotions that are attached to the sea. When you have proper waves then you start surfing. In ancient times priest use to pray for good surf. They use to perform ritual chants and dances, with the intention of pleasing the sea to provide the people with surfable waves.

In earlier days, surfing was not merely a pastime for the locals. This sport treated as a training exercise meant to keep people in top physical condition. Later, surfing turned into a system of conflict resolution. People of the rich class would test their skills in fierce competitions, during which wealth, pride, and even romance were at stake.

The Death of Surfing
These traditions changed with the arrival of the white man know as captain cook in the late Eighteenth century. He entirely dismantled the Hawaiian culture. With cook’s arrival many foreigners started visiting Hawaii; slowly they started to settle here and destroyed the culture. They captured the land from locals. These people didn’t had any respect for the ancient traditions and culture, and soon the traditions started drowning. The arrival of western religion stripped the surfing culture. Hawaiian’s were forced to adapt to a new lifestyle, they also started losing the touch with their ancient ways, and surfing soon went into a major decline.

The Rebirth of Surfing
In the Twentieth Century, the stage was set for a great revival. There came a renewed interest in surfing, which was brought by group of teens known as the Beach boys of Waikiki. Soon surfing in America began and started spreading its wings to various other parts. From this point surfing started to grow again and took the sport further. Slowly advancements in surfboard design started taking place and made the sport far more accessible to the public.

As the year passed material used in making surfboard also changed. Initially redwood, and then balsa and plywood were used to make surfboard. With technological advancements new materials such as Styrofoam and fiberglass were available to make surfboards. These new designs and lighter surfboard opened the new door to surfing sport. Then came ‘the surf movie’ and advertisements on television increased the surfing craze among people. And soon it became a pastime activity for American’s. Through these movies again surfing culture aroused. Today, surfing has become a lucrative profession with big fans around the globe.

Surfing is no longer a sport; it has now developed itself into an industry, and a staple of our culture. Now people from various parts of the country come to Hawaii to experience surfing.

Honolulu has some of the excellent hotels with basic amenities to pamper every customer. There are many dine in place on the island. As per your taste and preference you can pick your dining option. If you are fond of seafood then you get ample options around you, other food items are also available; but it depends on the seasonal availability.

If you like specialty ethnic foods then also various options are available-such as authentic Japanese noodle shops and Asian bakeries. Here you will order for traditional Hawaii food and sweets; which are world famous.

The preparation of traditional Hawaii Cuisine is comprised of natural ingredients that are grown on home soil, meat from the state’s cattle, and the freshest sea-food from the sea. Some of the tasty island dishes are the blend of Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, and Portuguese. To try out the fine combination of these authentic dishes check-out the famous restaurants run by chefs Alan Wong and Roy Yamaguchi. If you are a foodie then expenses would not beat your experience of delicious food.

The Pacific Beach Hotel: Neptune’s Garden, Shogun and Oceanarium- it’s one of the largest hotel with world’s biggest aquarium.

Neptune’s Garden- a fine dining restaurant, comprised of other two restaurants- The Oceanarium, here only buffet system is there, and

Shogun - here you will get Japanese style of cuisines; all the above restaurants are wrapped around the aquarium.
Aquarium holds more than 400 fish of 70 different species, including enormous rays and beautifully colored Hawaiian reef fish.

L&L Drive In (Diamond Head location) and Loco Moco, places would not disappoint you.

Legend Seafood Restaurant- this restaurant is in Chinatown. The place offers delicious Chinese food, as well as various other style of cuisine from all over Asia. Seafood is outstanding here.

Jackie’s Kitchen- this hotel is opened by Jackie Chan, one of the biggest movie star. You can get variety of delicacies but eat Chinese here; it’s their specialty. Among many appetizers -chicken and mushroom dumplings and Shanghai Noon Noodles are yummy and delicious. Here you can enjoy your meal while watching Jackie Chan’s movie on plasma-screen. Ambiance of the hotel is young and loud and not to forget the star quality food. Before visiting-Reservation is must.

Palomino- for business lunch this place is the best in downtown of Honolulu. Delicious food served with imaginative salads; you will forget the harbor view. For lunch hotel is open only on weekends but dinner is served for seven nights.

Duke’s Canoe Club- this hotel is on Waikiki Beach at the Outrigger Waikiki Hotel. You will be surmounted with good Hawaiian music while you enjoy your meal and it also has an extensive salad bar that includes the best Caesar in town. Food is reasonable.

Chef Mavro- menu keeps changing; they use freshest ingredients to prepare the food. With each meal, you are suggested to taste an appropriate wine. If you like the wine you can order that with your meal. Do not miss out on dessert here. The dessert menu is quit impressive, but I would suggest- Coconut Mousse and Bubble Tea Style.
